I just got my tuner card and set it up. went into configuration and set up the card and scanned and got all the channels I was looking for, but when I open MP 1.02 and go to tv nothing happens. I can see all the channels I scanned but when i go to the tv on button and check it, I get an error or something saying "recorder busy" does anyone know whats going on here? almost there...

:D

okay, Ive got tv :D but I am not too impressed with the video quality. I changed a couple things, I installed power dvd and the saf347 filter package as per this thread. Everything works for the most part but the audio and video seem to be just a tiny bit off. and the video kinda jerks. I know that It's all about configuration, I just don't think I have the right one.

I'll have to figure out the right combination.

Well, Iv'e been trying everything but this program just does not want to play tv well for me. I own BeyondTV 4 and the picture quality in that program is better that my 61 inch sony. I dont know what Im doing wrong, and cant seem to find help here. I thought the whole free thing was cool, but I guess if you want quality you get what you pay for...

:sorry:

Im not going for another solution, I'm coming from one.:D I would like to get this working, It is much nicer looking than btv4. but for the stress it is trying to get it all set up. Im going instantly Grey.: Plus the fact that I just screwed up my OS trying to clean out my registry to give this one more shot!

There just doesn't seem to be any clear steps on some configuration, for the complete novice around here. a lot of it is a little confusing. Ive been digging through posts for days, and when I think I have it all buttoned up. something goes wrong. like I said before, I was trying to set up gb pvr and it stressed me out so I thought this would be easier. but it seems that it is only by a margin. And maybe, I am just a little impatient at the moment. I stopped smoking not long ago and haven't completely learned how to cope yet. (and this isn't helping.:) ) bear with me.

anyway, I have learned quite a bit, so far. when I get my computer formatted and re install xp, I'll be back for another shot. I shouldn't need too much help, now. I think the epg configuration was probably the last thing I had to work out. as well as aesthetics. I really liked the xface skin but it wouldn't function with something, and then I turned to the purevision hd skin but I think that it had something to do with the performance of it all. and then I tried monochrome, and it was okay but ran buggy, which I think was due to installing and uninstalling codecs and blah blah.

I am sorry If I sounded complaining. :sorry:

I'll be back when I have my head level and my computer running again.

Good morning!

Well, I got my computer all installed and updated. I think  but I got MP 1.0.2 installed and went through the instruction manual step for step and and tried to just run the tv. Got 19 channels when I scanned. anyway, I wasnt getting any tv off the bat. So I followed your instructions and now have a log to start trouble shooting things.:)

hopefully I can make this a little less stressful for myself and take setting this up one step, slowly :D at a time. I do have a question about my previous install though. It seemed that the purevision skin worked really well for me before I added the tv side to it. My computer is not really old or anything. will a skin make a computer run slow? or is it a combination of skin and video processing. ? allright I'll shut up before I sound any more stupid

happy Sunday

:D

edit::::

Spragleknas, thank you, but I have uninstalled and reinstalled MP and now seem to have things worked out. though the video seems a bit slow and at the moment there is no sound, but I will double check my configuration and go from there.

as I said, sorry for being an impatient noob. :D I will get this yet.

thanks again.

Thank you, I have resolved my problem. I already own btv4 and have integrated it with MP with the multishortcut plug in. It works perfectly. this site is AWESOME and I will soon donate to keep things rollin.
