Trying to use a Dell ANgel USB TV Tuner (1 Viewer)

I am trying first and foremost to use my usb tv tuner device with the RCA inputs to record some video from my digitial video camera and Dish DVR. I don't know if there is something I am just doing wrong, or what's going on. I can't get the My Television to display anything, from channels, or from the RCA inputs. Is there some special thing I have to do to get it work? I would also like to use it with my Dish satellite, but I havn't tried to hook it up yet. Is there anythign special I should know about that?

Step 1

Okay, so I hooked it up to my feed 2 off my Dish DVR box, and I can go to channel 73 and get the signal. I even can see all the menu's, and hear the audio on the channels. I dont get the actual program picture though. Is there some setting I need to specify to get this to work?

Tommy_a_d, it may be simply that the channel you are trying to watch is not in the clear, but flagged to prevent recording (and viewing or time-shifting on a PC.)

I am dumping Dish (over $100 a month and I never watch it, and they ruined Voom programming:-( Also dumping my 622 HD-PVR, which was actually very good, but as I said, I never watch much on it.

Getting basic cable instead and HDHomerun. But also need analog (until they shut it in 2009 so was looking for something like the Angel, which is cheap on Ebay.

Anyone has it working with basic cable, MP and TV server?
