Can anyone suggest a .ts editor?
I want to edit HDTV recordings while retaining the HD video and the AC3 5.1 sound.
I would try the video editor built into MP but when I select the file I want to edit it just sits there like a dumb spud. I can't do anything and I eventually have to press Esc to exit it.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

It isn't free, but it is reliable and quick. I just wish it transcoded into .mkv

Well "TS Doctor" is a bust.
Doesn't matter what recording I try to edit (tried 4 different ones) it lets me set the cut points but, when I go to compile the new file it keeps spitting up discontinuity errors and then auto-stops with a "process aborted with errors" message for every recording I tried.

Ah well. Will have to keep searching.

I think, there is a mistake! Here it is working fine! Try to ask Cypheros in his forum -> Linkl!

    Here it is working fine!
TS Doctor working fine here too. I use it because in addition to cutting the ts-file, it also checks the stream for errors and it will fix the stream where possible. I've set the preferences to use the ffdshow audio/video codecs and matroska filter.

I have used TSSniper (freeware) as well, with success. Took a bit of tweaking though with regards to the directshow filters. You can't set the preferences in TSSniper itself, so you have to make sure that the system picks the correct codecs. As I run Windows 7, I used Win7DSFilterTweaker for this. For XP there's always Radlight's Filter Manager.
