I have a laptop that I would like to convert to a Media Portal PC. The only problem is that the application does not recognize my TV tuner card. In Windows XP Device Manager, there are two entries for the card. They are listed under "Sound, video and game controllers" as:
* SinoVideo PCI 2309 Proteus (7134) WDM Video Capture
* SinoVideo WDM TVTuner (TDA8275)
I wholeheartedly admit to being a Media Portal Newbie, so I was hoping someone out there could tell me how (or even if) I could add support for this card. It is an NTSC tuner that plugs into the PCMCIA slot. I do not know whether it has a hardware decoder or if it relies on a softare decoder. As you can probably tell from the Device Manager entry, it uses a Philips TDA8275A tuner. More details are at http://www.sinovideo.com.cn/en/p/1/. That's about as far as my limited knowledge goes.
Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
