    I did a channel-scan with my dvb-s card.
The result is some 1000+ channels.

I have grouped 10% of these channels into 2-3 groups.

Now, how do I make sure that the rest of the 90% channels are not being shown in the client's channellist ("all channels" group).

The thing is, if I accidently start the "all channels" group on the client it will spend a great deal of time populating this list with items.
No wonder, since it has to retrieve 1000+ channels from the DB.

    My suggestion goes.
On the channels tab, why not introduce some kind of functionality that would enable the user to automatically deselect (uncheck the checkbox in the "#" column) those channels that are currently not in a group. Maybe even enable the user to also delete those channels entirely ?

A nice and quick way to get rid of all the "trash" huh ?

As it is now, I have to do this manually, which I wont ... it will take hours + it's boring.

Is there even a way to avoid the "all channels" group ?

The same thing could be applied for the "TV EPG grabber" section.
Only select those channels that are in a group and deselect the rest?
Why would I want to grab channels that I have no use of ?

It would also be great if I could choose my own group when scanning channels.
Ex. if I am scanning Astra, I would like to have those channels in a temp group called astra.
This feature would be nice for ppl who have 4 LNBs or more. The channellist is just getting way big after a 4 LNB scan job.
(I know it can already create groups per provider name.)

well, if you open the TVserver management console, u will see the "tv channels" tree.
Expand it and select the "TV epg grabber" section.

There you can see all the channels that are currently being EPG updated.
You are adviced to only choose those few channels that you actually watch.

Otherwise the TVserver will spend most of its time doing pointless EPG updates on channels you do not watch.

    You could also consider xmlTV.

    Gibman,

I select only the Dutch channels in the TV epg grabber, but i don't recieve the dutch epg. Do i have also change settings on the right side off the TV epg grabber.

    You second suggestion:
I don't know how xmlTV works.
