I have a TV freezing problem since I use MP : TV freezes randomly during the first 30 minutes I watch (3 to 10 freezes). Changing channel and fixes the issue. After 30 minutes, no more freeze.

I have this behaviour since I use MP (eg from 1.0.0 to current SVN I installed). I have changed CODECs (tried at least 5 different), changed HDD, used different HDD for recordings and timeshifting, reinstalled XP and MP several times, changed motherboard, memory and processor, used AHCI and non AHCI-mode for HDD, disabled Avast antivirus in timeshifting/reconrding folders, even changed router on my network, tried different settings for packets in MP and NOTHING WORKS : still freezing !

If we were TV addicts, we surely would not be using MP anymore. Anyway, it is hardly frustrating not to be able to watch a program without freezes.

If we were TV addicts, I would have probably posted my logs earlier. Here they are : tonight, I watch TV and got a freeze at around 20:19 and another at arount 20:32. Then I ended MP... and I restarted it to listen music (at least, this works fine !)

I just noticed that when I press -15sec when TV freezes as suggested above, I go back into the timeshift buffer but the playback of the buffer also get stuck at the "freeze point". The only way to get TV back to life is to change channel.

I read about fixing corrupted packets reading in the roadmap : is this intended to fix my issue ? Is anybody working on this ? When is this fix planned to be available ? I have had the issue since I use MP and we are about giving up with Htpc stuff !

Well, I hope this might be one cause. I think hardware is not responsible : I set up a RAMDisk for timeshift and I got the same freeze behaviour. Contrarily to the bug reported, I only have freezes when starting watching TV. It never happens on recording playback. Moreover, if I start TV, record the show and play it (like a "manual" timeshifting), I never have freezes : this tends to prove it is a timeshift issue.

I removed the RAMDisk as it did not improve the situation and set up the MSloopback adaptator as suggested to fix my recording issue. The tip does not solve my recording issue but seems to be effective on freeze problem. I will confirm in the next days.

Anyway, can anyone give some troubleshooting procedure to understand why a Netgear WNR2000 router connect with a 1m CAT5 100Mbps cable is not able to ensure a proper stream on a single-seat ?
