when I watch movies, a few minutes after i star watching the tv goes black, off, like energy saving, and i have to move the mouse to get it to work again, how can i solve this problem?

Maybe it is your Windows screensaver? What is the settings?

ok. it was the screensaver, and i watch in full screen, can i leave the screen saver on, and madia portal turn off screen saver wile it is in use?

There is a screensaver process plugin that should do the job.
I have not yet used it myself, so please let us know if it worked.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but it seems to encompass the issue I am having quite well. Except I am running .2.3.0 on Vista. I have downloaded the screensaver plugin, but it doesn't seem to work. Newer version of MP and Vista could have a reason as to why it doesn't work.
Is there a setting or something in MP to disable Vista's screensaver and power settings? Thanks for any help.

@CyberSimian Sorry, I missed your last post. I ended up doing a clean install on the client and all is well now. It still doesn't let me go back in time when I change channels but it does continue operating from that point on. I'm ok with that. Thanks for your help!

In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes"
In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device"

The electronic program guides (tvguide.xml) have been successfully transferred to MediaPortal.
The issue stemmed from the corruption of one or both of the mc2xml.dat and/or mc2xml.exe files, for an unknown reason. Consequently, even though the tvguide.xml file appeared to be updated, its content kept being an...
