Hi there,

I have this TV Card: Happauge Nova-T PCI 90002.

I have set it up with TV3 and it scans for the channels and finds the channels alright. The preview feature of the TV3 configration streams the channels aswell fine and i can watch them ok.

When I try to watch TV in media portal it says "No Video or Audio Detected". Sometimes it does work though, and sometimes it doesn't - is this a known problem? (I can't get to the logs at the moment, but I am going to do a complete reinstall of media portal, so if this problem persists I shall post some logs)

Also it never seems to show the EPG in media portal - do I have to set this up at all? I want it to get the EPG from the TV Card.

When it does work, it takes quite along time from the point of pressing "My TV" in the menu to the point of actually showing the "My TV" section. Is there any way I can speed this up? Is there also any way to speed up channel changing?

I know there are some settings in the TV3 server configuration but I don't really know what they do. For anyone with this card, what settigs do you have?

Thanks for any input you have.

----- EDIT: -----

During Channel Scan, the "Signal Quality" is always full, but the "Signal Level" has nothing (no bars). I think it finds all the channels aswell, but I can't be sure.

I am 8.27miles away from the Crystal Palace Transmitter in London and i pick up 52 TV channels and 30 radio channels.

    Change the EPG setting timeout to 15, that usually fixes that one.

    As far as your actual TV showing as no connection to video\audio, use VLC player to check the stream\connection is passing ok by your firewall, try turning firewall off to test if neccessary.

    Thanks for the first tip.

    I have no firwall so that can't be the issue.

    I did a reinstall of everything including the latest SVN and the previews work fine from the server management, but its stuttery and jumpy when viewing in Media Portal.

    Ok, well the EPG issue is fixed so thanks for that.

    New Issue I have noticed though is that when you enter My TV and it shows a small preview of the TV, that doesn't show the video (it occasionally shows frames - but they flash on then it goes black again), i can hear the audio though.

    I can see the TV when its in full screen.

    =====================================

    The jumpy TV issue still stands though, the only channel i can view without it being jumpy is E4, all the others are jumpy. When I go to "Tuning Details" in media portal for E4 it would be this one minute:

    Signal level: 100
    Signal quality: 100

    ...then it would change to:

    Signal level: 0
    Signal quality: 100

    ...then it would change back again about 10 seconds later.

    For another channel - BBC1 for instance i get this under "Tuning Details" i would get:

    Signal level: 0
    Signal quality: 84

    ...and it would be very jumpy.

    =====================================

    See attachments for logs for both the TV server and Media Portal whilst trying to watch BBC1

    Thanks.

    I had a similar issue. It turned out (in my case) to be an incorrect version of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable.

    Sorry, I meant the single frame being displayed every so often in the User Interface, but OK full screen problem. I simply downloaded the latest version from Microsoft, uninstalled the older version from Add/Remove Programs, then installed the new version. The TV display in the UI worked fine after that.
