I am buying a new lcd tv for my HTPC. I have two in mind (both toshibas), but one has not got HDMI inputs. It still has an RGB PC connection though. My question is: What is the quality difference between connecting my HTPC to a tv with HDMI inputs or to a tv through the standard PC connection?

Cheers,
BW

It basicly depends on the quality of the ad converters of the vga port.
I have 26" LCD tv and I didn't see any difference in picture quality.

There is only one thing I'm considering, as I live in 50Hz europe, the vga input can be switched to 75Hz which is a multiple of 50Hz. Which should give better sync between picture and sound.

I'm going to test this soon and see what happens.
