Synopsis::
Bright areas are too bright & washed out.
I use ffdshow processing set up according to the guide at htpcnews.com & avi's look great, but with tv, the white areas are too bright & washed out. Dark areas are fine, perhaps a little too dark, so I assume this has something to do with the gamma settings. I've used the slider while viewing, but it didn't help.
Since avi's are okay & the sat box looks fine when run directly to my tv, I think this has something to do with the Hauppauge setup. Is there anywhere the gamma can be adjusted? I have a satellite stb running s-video into the hauppauge card & an hdmi cable with 2 hdmi-to-dvi adapters running to my Hitachi PJ-TX100 projector on a 120" screen.
