Summary: Auto leave empty folder in tv recordings after deleting the last recording in a folder for a series, deleting whole folders of recordings, extended day selections for recording schedules.

Area: Handling of recorded tv list and recording schedule options

Description:

I've got to say that I absolutely love MP. I switched from a setup where I would switch between a ReplayTV unit and XBMC to cover all my bases. Having everything in one box is a life-saver. With the experience from using a multitude of devices and having spent a year with MediaPortal, I've got a couple small ideas.

1) I like how MP groups episodes of a series into one folder. Could it be possible to delete the entire folder of recorded episodes from the main listing? For example, if a show that airs everynight during a week was all re-runs, I'd love to be able to kill the whole folder rather than open the folder and go to each one and delete them individually.

2) Recording Monday - Friday. One thing that I think was a good feature in the ReplayTV unit's interface was the ability to fine-tune the days of a week that a given recording happened on. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are two shows that provide a good example of where it proves useful. These shows air from Monday - Thursday. This causes MediaPortal to record something bogus on Friday. It would be cool to be able to deselect Friday from the days that the shows are being recorded on. An Advanced or Custom schedule option would do the trick with check boxes for the various days of the week and such.

3) This one also relates to the grouping of episodes in folders. If you delete the last episode in a given series' folder, it would be cool to be dumped back into main listing of recordings. It saves the step of the two button presses it requires to get out of the now-nonexistant folder that we are left in.

These are just a couple of ideas that seemed to jump out at me in my daily dealings with the product. I think this thing is an absolute home-run! I am really looking forward to seeing what else can be done with the Comskip integration! Bringing that in got me really excited! Keep up the great work!

:D
