TV schedules and automatic recording. (1 Viewer)

Hi

How do I enable a TV program to automatically record at a certain time?

In TV-Server Configuration I clicked on TV Schedules. I clicked on the titles or buttons at the top and nothing happened. I also clicked on the help link at the top right of that window and it did not say how to set it up.

I have a Hauppauge HVR-2200 tuner card and am running Windows XP Home edition in the Cairns area in Australia.

in the TV Guide, click on the program you want to record. It will give you a list of upcoming episodes. Click on the episode you want to record. A red dot will appear on it. This means MP will record the show.

If you want to record every week or every day, use 'advanced record' which will bring up a series of options to select what time(s) you want to set

The recording schedule will only work under 1 of two conditions:

1. The machine is powered on and tvserver is running

2. the machine is in standby mode (s3-suspend or s4-hibernate) using powerscheduler plugin and is able to reliably resume from standby

in other words, for scheduled record to work, you need the machine always on, or set to standby and resume from either ram or hard disk

- note that powerscheduler works most reliably if it is allowed to set the machine to standby. Resume errors may occur if the machine is set to standby by another means (ie manually)

Hi

I went into the TV guide but could not see any TV programs. I tried to attach an image of the screenshot to this message. I hope you can see it all right.

I finally worked out how to attach the image to the post. I earlier tried the "insert image" button and then I uploaded it to my webpage. You could have the option to browse the computer for an image on that "insert image" button.

Ok so you need to enable EPG.

Set the channels in Tv Server - Settings - TV EPG Grabber.

Please see manual entry for EPG if you need more information.

I went into the setting like I assume you suggested. EPG grabbing was enabled as shown by the screenshot. What settings should I change?

Additionaly you must select channels for grabbing EPG
ps You can see results of epg grabbing in epg.log
