I have an issue which has only appeared after upgrade to MP RC2.

On both client machine and main HTPC TV Series crashes MP when scanning for updated TV Series Files.

Unless I disable TV Series Plugin MP will crash soon after entering MP

If I manually scan via MP Config, config will crash.

Main HTPC runs Vista SP1, client runs Windows7, both MP RC2 and TV Series 2.5.3

I have attached logs, hopefully someone can help:D

Your InfoService plugin is giving errors, it is probably causing compatability problems, so disable it and see if that solves it. If it does, then you have to update the plugin and verify settings are correct.

The weakest link in a chain makes the entire chain break, same goes for a bad plugin in MediaPortal.

Thanks for trying, but disabled infoservice, enabled TV series, restarted MediaPortal - Boom!

Any other suggestions? I have a nagging suspicion that it might be fanArt related??

Please turn on debug logging in TVSeries configuration. I can't see any indication of a crash in the logs.

    Thanks mate,

I am still a little nervous about whether this has solved my issue.

    Upgraded mediainfo.dll to 0.7.32

Renamed database, uninstalled then reinstalled TV Series

Went into config, and imported files, got through a lot of them, then the dreaded "Mediaportal configuration has stopped working"

Went back into MediaPortal though, and after going in to My TV Series, and a little time with the spinning wheel, all the series seem to be there.

I can't be the only one having this problem can I? Will keep you posted on what transpires, because I think there is something fundamentally wrong here. The client machine I am running this on is a bog basic Windows 7 install, with only MediaPortal installed, and because it is relatively new, has not had the time to accumulate the dross that builds up over time. It has only ever had RC1 and now RC2 installed, has never had TV Server installed, and I really only add TV Series, Infoservice, Moving Pictures and My Music Videos to my Mediaportal installs. The fact that I seem to have the same issue on my main HTPC also makes me concerned.

I wonder if it is the size of the database, there are over 900 episodes in one folder all named "Series Name - ssxee - Title.avi" where ss is series number and ee is episode number.

Thanks for helping me out so far, and if there is any specific testing I can do to help increase the knowledge base, let me know:D

OK, TV series has not crashed all day, and MP seems fine, but......

I have had to go through this whole process for all 3 clients on my network.

    i.e. upgrade mediainfo.dll
delete or rename TV Series database
    go into config and re-import data;

Just for anyone else who has the same issue, my only remaining problem is why????

Is this important for future versions of MP to take care of?
