tv series update? (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I would have to say MP and tv series is one of the coolest things ever, I would say even better then XBMC. One thing I had a question about is when I add a new episode is there an easy way up updating the data.

Right now i am dropping the episode in the folder. Then shutting down MP, running the Config for TVSERIES. Clicking Import. Then restarting MP.

Am I missing something or is this what everyone else is doing. Your help is much appreciated.

It updates automatically, as long as the file is in the correct name layout, and within the folder that is scanned, then that is it.

I would say even better then XBMC

As far as I am aware (on my system at least) the system seems to automagically pick up new videos.

If not, if you pull-up the contextual menu, theres an option to scan local files and update the list.

Also - I agree this is the killer feature.

contextual menu? where is that, are you talking within MP. I am using the xface skin.

WithWithin the MP TVseries plugin press your Info button on your MCE remote. (Alternatively there is a keyboard shortcut, you can find out the key by looking in the config prog)

This will display a menu that contains the local scan option, amongst other things.

....but, like all the others have said, there is no need as MP picks it up automatically. Do you have the correct options set in the config app? Not got it in front of me now, but they should be obvious, something like 'monitor local directories for updates' needs to be ticked.

thanks for all your feedback, it is now fixed and is adding the tv shows automatically.

How can I make a shortcut key to jump directly to TVSeries? Maybe instead of the regular TV section of the program, being that I don't use a capture card so the main feature of MP is useless to me.

You can jump directly to tvseries every time you start MP if you check "Show last active module when starting/resuming from standby" in "Configuration -> General" and shut down MP from tvseries of course.

Yeah that'd be one way to do it, but I'd really just like to be able to push a key and have it go there. I'd just map the TV button on my remote to whatever key would accomplish that.
