Brief description:
Channel scanning or channel viewing is not working in MP 1.2.0b

My prosedure:
1 Uninstalled old MP (1.1.2)
2 Installed MP 1.2 beta
3 Checked that my DVB cards was correctly detected by TV server - And Yes they where
4 Imported backup of channels from old setup
5 Tried the new stresstest functionality but because the functionality is new I didnt notice anything not working as supposed
6 Opened MP and tried watching FTA channels - No sucess
7 In Server setup - cleared DB for all imported channels
8 Made a new scan - the scanning went approx 10-15 times faster than in previous versions of MP. My first reaction was WOW :), but as the scanning went on, NO channels was found

In my server log I found a comment about a cam module not found... and thats correct in MP 1.1.2 i always (on inital setup after a new clean reinstall of Win and MP) scanned without the cam inside with no problem just to try out the FTA channels.

See spesific logfile for theese steps....

So tried a new approach with the cam and subscriber card attached
10 Uninstalled one of my h7 tuner cards to be sure the tuner I used was the one with the cam inserted - the oteher one was used by my wife for wathing TV .... sigh
11 Tried a new scan - the same result - no channels
12 Reimporting old channels from old 1.1.2 setup again
13 Tried to manually timeshift - No success
14 Tried to watch Live TV - No success

Se spesific logfile for theese steps..... (hopefully in the same order of events...)

15 Recovered my old OS with MP 1.1.2 imediately afterwords just to confirm cards and dvbc signal was ok and it all worked again - and it DID :)

Anyway - what i have been able to see of the new version. This looks good.
Thanks to the whole team :)
Looking forward to using the new vesion!

The first error was that channels were imported but never linked to any card
    Code:
    2011-04-29 17:48:16.096255 [(19)]: Controller: StartTimeShifting failed:ChannelNotMappedToAnyCard
So importing will probably work for you if you make sure the channels are assigned to cards.

The scanning does look odd though as you have
    Code:

    Thanks for swift reply

Im almost certain the channels was correctly linked to the cards - at least at a late state of my testing.
But im not 100 % shure, exactly when, so for clearity I will recover my test OS with the 1.2.0b, clean the imported channels and try a new scan.

Im not an developer and reasonably new to MP, but what i can read from the logs that is different from version 1.1.2 is that the cam module not detected is a WintTV Cam.
Im not sure if this (WinTV) is a new general term used in the logfiles but in the 1.1.2 the cam should be detected as a Twinham CI.
"WinTV" - isnt that a hauppaugge card?

Ill post the new logs when done :)

    Hi ogir_xx

jameson_uk is right - there is a problem with the graph building for your tuner. Nothing will work until we find out what is causing that. Can you post your TV Server *error log* please. I'd expect to see something in there that will help us track down the problem.

    Hi again :)

    New logs attatched

What I did: Clearing DB for existing channles, new channel scan, new import of old channels, manual timeshifting tests with and without ci module inserted.

Whats the reason for the tuner card working in 1.1.2 but not in 1.2.0b ? :)

    Hi ogir_xx

It looks like your Terratec H7 is not detected by Windows anymore. If you open TV Server configuration, expand the TV Servers node on the left, and then click on "htpc-PC" you will see the list of tuners. Both H7 tuners (DVB-C and DVB-T) will be listed as type "Unknown". You need to turn off your computer (shut down fully), ensure the H7 is correctly plugged in and connected to the computer, and then start the computer again. If the H7 is still not properly detected (still listed as type "Unknown") then try reinstalling the drivers.

Just to make this clear: Does the TV-Card work with the software from Terratec?

    @ mm1352000
:) No offence taken - but after approx 30 reinstalls of os versions and trying out wich exact drivers for Terratec Cinergy PCI HD CI and H7 are working with 1.1.2, im pretty sure the drivers are installed ok and the card is properly recognised by MP, and NOT listed as unknown, but correctly as DVB-C.
The driver im using is the same I know work with 1.1.2 where the card and CI correctly is registered as a twinham CI. But the actual driver as You suggest is not the issue here? Its the driver/card recognition....

But to be sure I will recover my new test 1.2.0b OS during the day to make sure and do your suggested boots/reboots/and driver reinstall.

    @ mp-user
Well on all my previous installs and tests i have NEVER suceeded in getting the software from Terratec to work. Not the Cinergy PCI (currently not in use because I am waiting for a pcie to pci raiser/transformer for my zotac board that has no native pci slot) and not with the H7. But I always have had sucess with DVBviever.

Thought i after so many reinstalls and test did an bulletproof setup, so didnt bother to test with DVBviewer on the new 1.2 setup ....

Hope both your suggestion actually works, even though I then will feel like a relly nooby, and want to apologize for taking up your presious time

Will post back my results with the DVBviewer and the suggested cardrecognition issue
