Hi,

I've been trying to get the TV-Server to work reliably for days now but I'm having a serious problem... the TV Server app keeps closing in the middle of watching TV. Without warning, while I'm watching a TV channel the video just freezes and mediaportal stops responding. After much confusion I finally worked out that the TV Server had closed in the background.

I am currently running a single seat config with th latest MP 0.2.3 STABLE and SVN 16599 and TV Server SVN 16615. I have also tried many other recent SVN's of both MP and TV Server with the same results (and yes, I have tried running the same SVN version of MP and TV Server but this didn't help).

Every time the TV Server "crashes" there is no visible error message on screen, but I do find this error in the Event Viewer:

Faulting application tvservice.exe, version 1.0.0.16615, stamp 475c89e8, faulting module tswriter.ax, version 0.0.0.0, stamp 474a9fe1, debug? 0, fault address 0x0000bc3f.

Is this a problem with the TS filter? I have also attached the log files from after the last crash.

This seems to happen mostly when I am watching a scrambled TV channel that requires the CAM unit of the TechnoTrend S-1500 (I have a decrypter card for the channels in question).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Rich

I have been reporting this instability for some time but gave up on keeping posting my logs as nothing improved.

I have given up on timeshifting as it just crashes the tswriter. This is on systems with VISTA 32, XPsp2 and w2ksp4.

Recording, EPG grab, subs on/off aren't affected and Recording and then watching the recording as it is being recorded (real time) is fine.

    See this thread here

Try recording a channel and watching the recording in real time and see if you get the same tswriter crash (I don't)
