TV server doesn't stream anymore (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,
I'm a new user, and I switched to tvserver because launching the my tv module would cause a 100% cpu load, making mediaportal unusable (I have only the primary display, so wasn't a directx issue related to the secondary display).

Well, usually the server starts streaming the live tv and I can access it opening rtsp://myserverip/stream1

Yesterday i had to clean my htpc, format it. I reinstalled everything, and now the tv server don't stream any more.

Accessing from mediaportal client I can barely see 1 second of video, and opening rtsp://192.168.0.51/stream1 nothing happens..

This is all I get in the streaming server log (notice no references to stream1):
13-01-2007 01:43:58 Stream server:confused:etup stream server for ip:192.168.0.51

Help?
Thanks

Not streaming in version tvengine3-01-12-2007--01-14h--Rev12610

I can confirm (though cannot supply logs) that this version does not stream - I had to go back to tvengine3-01-10-2007--20-13h--Rev12599 so my daughter could watch Big Brother uk

I will test more fully today.

I have also been extremely frustrated over the last few hours trying to get the TV server to work. I was just about to post the same, when I saw this.

There does seem to be a problem.

As a quick follow-up, with version tvengine3-01-10-2007--20-13h--Rev12599 I can now access the video stream remotely using VLC, but when I try to access the stream in media portal, or switch on the TV (once I've stopped the stream on the server) I get no video.

I am assuming that since I can view the stream using VLC, then there are no problems with the SQL server, TV server or firewall. Is anyone in the know able to confirm this suspicion so that I can look elsewhere for the problem?

    Thanks,

    Mark

Yeah i have the same problem as well, since the last 3 SVN's of the TVserver.

When I tune a channel on the client I observe the following things on the serverTV app.

    Manual control;
The channel is being marked as timeshifting, locked by client1.

This seems like the way it should be.
also the TS file is increasing in size on the disc, also a good sign.

Alhthough the streaming server tab indicates no clients connected.
    Not a good sign :(

The client just hangs more or less. here is a good hint when the client hangs....make sure that u dont run it in fullscreen, otherwise u will have trouble "end tasking" mediaportal.exe ..why ? u cant seem to make the task manager stay on top of the frozen mediaportal fullscreen drawing area. Its rather stubborn.

Also sometimes when I stop the tvservice, it wont stop...Its stuck. in the services tab in XP it says "stopping"...Only a reboot helps here.

Right, sorry for being a pain.

I had a different version of the plugin on the client.

When I install the plugin from tvengine3-01-10-2007--20-13h--Rev12599, everything seems to work pretty well.

When I change to a channel that isn't broadcasting at the moment, then MP seems to hang.

Apart from that, all is good. Now to try with two tuners.

Maybe this thread should be moved to bug reports, but I don't know how to do that.

    Best wishes,

I'm going to do a clean install of the tvserver today, install all the latest svns on server and clients and try again.

I already did a clean install, so the problem is the latest tvserver svn.
I'm going to install a previous svn to check if the issue goes away.

I already did a clean install on both the client and server.
After the uninstall process I removed the DIR's also, leaving nothing behind except for the SQL database on the server.

    The problem still exists.

My guess is also that an older SVN of the tvserver will do the trick.
    I'm running skystar2 dvb-s + yakumo dvb-t usb stick.

The last SVN that works for me is ; tvengine3-01-10-2007--20-13h--Rev12599.zip

All while the client is running latest SVN + latest tvplugin SVN.
    In other words client:
    MediaPortal-svn--01-12-2007--01-02-Rev12610.exe
    +client plugin from : tvengine3-01-13-2007--01-12h--Rev12619.zip

I guess a bug must have been introduced in the tvserver after rev 12599 huh ?

Now I can watch TV again...
