This should be an easy one but how do you change the IP address of the TV server? When I go into the configuration and select "Choose an IP for Streaming" there are no options. It was working but when the power went out here my server changed IPs (I know, I should have it set as a static, lesson learned!)

Any help?

Just set it to the static IP now.

Tried that too but that IP was being used by something else. So.....I disconnected everything else and rebooted by router.

All fine now but still can't figure out why I couldn't change the IP if needed???

I 100% agree, and the unstable nature of Mediaportal suggests that such a feature would increase ease of use, customization,
and experimentation, along with stability.

Having new tab in the GUI to modify the data could state, "modification of this data will require a restart of TvService," could be highly beneficial.

I do NOT consider this topic fixed, but rather, a suggestion was offered on how to do it oneself. As a growing application, I consider this a feature request, and unless people voice that in the proper forum, it will go unheard as if it is okay.


a) All of a sudden my TvServer changed from IP to COMPUTERNAME
b) What's easier? Open the MP GUI and change the info or, to go through a ton of manual steps?
c) Obviously, a GUI.
d) The GUI takes care of all the tedious work in the background by programming it into the interface, which requires man power and
time.
e) Kudos to MediaPortal
