I'm using MP 1.0 and very sucessfully. It works great for the whole family.

The only issue I have is after 3 or 4 weeks the system gets slow and the hard drive gets busy, often while watching a recorded program, and this causes major pauses at times. A reboot of the PC fixes it for another 3 or 4 weeks.

Before the last reboot I loaded Task Manager and discovered the TV Server service was using just over 1GB of memory. It took 20 seconds to stop the service. After restarting, it was using around 14MB and everything goes well again.

After 5 or 6 days, it is now using 250MB.

I'm not sure providing logs will help, but if so then let me know.

    Ross.

Such memory leak is really hard to track down, also no one else has reproted any leaks with current version. So, please post as much information as you can.

    - EPG grabbing settings
    - schedules
    - plugins enabled
    - logs
    - etc.

I'm also seeing this same behaviour. In my case the TV server service was at 980MB before I noticed and restarted it and it's growing again having gone from about 35MB to 140MB over 3 days.

I'm running a single seat configuration (with occassional connection from another client)

    Plugins I have active are:
    XMLTV
TV3 Blaster plugon for IR Server
Power Scheduler (Not set to sleep)

I grab a new XML TV file every two days from and external file (complete replace) and do not have EPG grapping from tuners enabled.

I notice rlevis and I are both from NZ so maybe it's something unque to our broadcasts here or the EPG we use.

I mainly use our Freeview DVB-T service and grab my xmltv file from an externally downloaded file.

I also mainly use MP with the Freeview DVB-T service but I also have one analog UHF channel configured. My EPG is also an automated XML import every day. I'm not using any plugins for TV Server. Hopefully someone can decipher your log to find the problem.

I will try that when I can.

Note that we only use XML file imports in NZ because the DVB-T broadcast EPG is in MHEG-5 format which MediaPortal doesn't yet support. Hopefully it will do so in the future. I've heard that some other media center type software does support it. Just keeping this feature in the ether:)

I've turned of the XMLTV plugin entirely (and restarted the TV server just to make sure) and I still see the same behaviour.

I've attached a screenshot of the TV service memory usage. That jump you see is initally is going from watching recorded TV to live and then channel changing back and forth and stopping and starting live TV etc. I don't always see that big a jump when starting live TV and I've yet to figure out what triggers it.

One thing to note is that I also have analog tuners that I don't use that much but have included in the channel changing I was doing here.

So basically it just grows over time until a gig or so is being consumed after a few weeks.
