Using Tv server management I can find my Avermedia M780 and scan for available channels (I'm only going for the analog cable channels right now). When the scan completes I can preview each channel, etc. I then select a tvguide.xml file that is in a folder with a xmltv.dtd file. After a moment the the status will read "tvguide.xml:File imported successfully". I've started MP with and without the "detailed" channels (eg "13 WEAU") mapped to the card. The channels will show up in MP but no listings are available.
If I uninstall the TV client plugin and run just from MP I can also successfully import the tvguide.xml. However, when I do it this way the listings are displayed in the tv guide but when I select a channel to tune a message will display "No card to tune: * (*= 3 letter id such as: DSC). I've used Graph Edit to double check the setup for the M780 and everything matches up as far as I can tell but when trying to add this card I get the error "unable to create graph for this device". I don't mean to get more than one issue going here but I am just trying to define my problem.

So, a summary:
1. Using Tv server in a single seat setup - tvguide.xml will import, channels will be scanned and are previewable.
2. In MP the channels are viewable but no guide information is available.

I just built this machine and I have been trying out different PVR software. MP is by far the best so far - UI is great, I like the idea of the client/server setup, etc. but I've put in a ton of hours this weekend reading the forums and trying different things to get this to work. I'm sorry if you don't think this is a bug, I just can't find enough relevent support on Tv server --> MP in the forums to resolve the issue. Let me know what I can do to help out with this.
:D

    Hello andematt,

be sure that the channelnames are the same in the xmltv file and the TV-Server. There is no program information shown at all when they differ.
