I've got the multi-seat server/client working perfectly on my lan - ie my home network.
Can this be achieved over the internet?
Bandwidth aside how would a router be setup for port forwarding?
I've read the wiki and other threads and the port related are mainly to do with locally opening up ports and windows firewall.
I have a fixed IP so I would enter that in media portal on the client side - (I'm talking MP here and not using VLC as per in other threads)
In theory my router would need to be setup to forward certain ports to the PC with the TV server - would I need to forward all ports - ie streams, sql database etc
From "TV-Server Ports" thread
-------------
1. Port TCP 31456 is used for remote-controlling the tvserver
2. Port TCP 554 is used for RTSP announcements
3. Each stream will have its own UDP port also, i think the first stream will start at UDP port 1156
3. and offcourse you will need a port open to reach the sql database
-------------
Many thanks for your input
