Hi,
after upgrading from RC1 to RC2 I see a lot of problems with live TV. See other posts here in the forum:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/1-0-rc2-svn-builds-280/music-video-live-tv-tv-server-hangs-42948/
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/1-0-rc2-svn-builds-280/mp-tv-only-works-stable-first-start-after-reboot-42850/
Today I even couldn't start live TV right after a Windows cold boot, so I checked the logfiles (attached) to see what might have happened. I do not understand most of what is in there, but it seems that the TV server has problems to reach the database (check tvserver_error.log at timestamp 2008-07-29 10:20:14). The reason for this being unclear, since the correct user/password combination is used. Could this cause a total freeze of Mediaportal?
I remember that during RC1 to RC2 upgrade I got an error message (TV server has detected an error and needs to be closed) which left over an incomplete installation. However, after a manual TV Server deinstall the reinstall went fine, and I could perform a sucessful database test connection and then a channel search+update.
The only problem that I have since, is that there is no EPG data any more, but I will put this into a separate thread if appropriate.
Here are my questions:
a) Could the effects above be explained by a missing database connection?
b) Can this connection be tested, or "repaired" in any way?
What should I do to get MP working again?
