tv setup crashes! (1 Viewer)

hi - when I go to select "uk - all areas" on the tv setup, mediaportal tunes for approx 2 seconds and then closes saying xp encountered an unexpected error.

any ideas?

I have a nova-t-500 + xp professional.

Which version of MP are you using, I have just installed todays svn on a clean install of MP0.2.2.0, using MP setup, just tuned my T500 on Winter Hill with no problems, i do this with both tuners as saves having to assign channels to cards (takes longer).

This is using driver version 34a1.

Can you not find your local transmitter in the list ?

Do not use the TV setup within MediaPortals own program as errors\crashes occur.

thanks, I found out about using the setup to tune later!

All worked ok, until I had a system crash caused by a faulty keyboard. I had to reintall all the drivers again. The 34a1 drivers cause as many problems as they solve and certainly didn't work for me!

I then had the grapher/mpeg pin problem which I solved by loading wintv mpeg codecs.

However despite recognising my tuners and scanning in the tv stations, media portal refuses to display them. It displays a "tuner could not find: bbc1" etc and this applies to all the channels.

Does anyone have any ideas?

after you scanned for channels , did you assigned them to your tv card ?

If you don't succeed , you'll have to tell us more about yout config

wich MP or tvserver versions you are using exactly, will be a begining .

I think you may have a system (xp\mce\vista) wide error as tried these drivers on both xp and vista and they worked fine.

Again if the MPV\MPA codecs do not work at all, would suspect your codecs are screwed within xp.

If you have been installing\uninstalling lots of bits, might be worthwhile doing a complete reinstall of operating system (format and start from scratch, installing all latest drivers for your setup).

Crashing during setup

When running the setup in 0.2.2.0, on the 5th screen (right after it detects my card) I can see the screen for a fraction of a second before the program crashes & exits. The screen does not stay visible long enough to read exactly what it's asking, but it looks like it's showing the scan positions of the detected channels.

I'm running Windows XP Home, with a Hauupage HVR1600
