Hi everybody.

I having some troubles when using tv on mediaportal.
I just have to update my htpc especially for mediaportal application. So i make a fresh install of xp sp2 with all the last drivers.

But, when i want to view or record a channel, the images and sound stuttering every 5 secondes; and, sometimes the "no signal" popup appear.
Another thing: when i do a autotune, mp find all the channel, and the images & sound is perfect in the little box.

I've test with differents codec, enable/disable the the exclusive directx mode, and install reinstall all the drivers (graphic card, sound, chipset and tv card). But the problem is still there.

This problem does not occurs with the leadtek software.

Somebody can help me to have tv work?

Sorry for my english

So, nobody can help me?

I'm not very sure it's a mp problem; may be it's due to my new hardware, especially the MSI motherboard

This is that i try yesterday:
- Update the mb bios and the onboard graphic card bios
- update wmp 9 to wmp 10
- install th dxva update

But the problem is still here.

I think that:
1 - TV video stream dropping down to 0
- OR -
2 - VMR9 renderer dropping down to 0 FPS

But i don't know how can i check it! With graphedit?
Thanks

Hi wortelsoft!

Thank you for your reply!

I've test with and without uhe exclusive directx mode, and don't see any difference.
So i try putting the tv card on a different pci slot, no change again.
I don't think that the latency tool change anything for me.

I've do a test for report the log:
- Launch MP
- Go to My TV with TV On and timeshiffting Off
- Recorded few seconds
- Stop record
- Close MP

This is the video files, and the log are here.

I don't see anithing strange on the log file.

I install Meedio pro, to see if it's work.... and no problem to get live tv and record program :(

Another question: Does MP support HD audio 7.1 card like RealTek ALC880 ?

EDIT: this is GraphEdit during liveTV. What is Smart Tee ?

Hi,

I got exactly the same problem, see here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=13209

I went through the same process of upgrading the mobo and installing latest drivers and SP2 etc. and got the dreaded stutter.

The thing we have in common i think is the nforce chipset, is anyone using the nforce 430 and 6150 gpu successfully?

Also something which caught my eye was the HDD light, is yours constantly flickering about once per second?

I'm going to see if I can try an IDE drive and to see if that makes a difference.

Hi robomonkey ! :)

I've do some test again, and i'm glad to say that i don't have the same thing than you. In my case, the hdd light don't flickering every second (i use an IDE disk)
But, i just want to notice to you that i didn't installed the nforce IDE drivers include in the nforce software. May be you must try without this driver.

Did your picture and sound stuttering when you watch live tv without timeshiffting?

Concerning my problem, i have try to use the nvidia decoder, reinstall framework .net 2; but nothing change again.

Can anyone see if my graph had a problem?

Hi, ok I've fixed mine :D

I rolled back to a clean XP install, installed
- all the windows update patches
- Frodo reccomended patches
- dotnet2 (not 1.1 as well)
I then installed SP2 and updated to a cvs which I know worked for me before (albiet on a different chipset) which was 12-01-2006.

Magically it all work first time!!!

Now I started to fine tune the install, one of the things I did was check all the post processing boxes, but... while configuring WebEPG I forgot to install ffdshow....next time I ran MP the stutting came back.

This might be expected since MP was trying to use post processing without it being installed, but it might help you, currently I'm not using post processing and its working flawlessly.

Hope that helps!!

Hi robomonkey!

i'm happy for you if you can now enjoy playing with mediaportal.

For me, MP doen't work at all. I think i must post i a the bug section.
I now use the nVidia decoder, for DVD, TV and movie. No problem with DVD and movie, but with TV, i'm unable to see something more than 5 secondes.
The sound and video streams goes from 2 to 0 Mops, like you can see here
I tried the cvs from today.

The tv works pretty well with Meedio and the PRV software!

Please somebody can help me!

Got a fix...

I had same problem.

I was using the onboard video -- problem is the BIOS defaults to only use 64M. Go ino the bios, change to use 128M and hopefully that will sort your problem.
