Not noticed this one before but in the last week I have had two occasions when my machne has not come out of S3 standby correctly.

When I connect remotely I see that mtn.exe is running and taking up 50% CPU. From what I understand this is what is used for creating the thumbnails of TV recordings?

First off it looks like MP allowed standby even though the thumbnailing must have still been running and secondly it looks like mtn.exe is not working correctly.

Not got any logs as they have been overwritten (after ending task on mtn.exe system went straight into standby and then whenI restarted MP restarted and seems to have got rid of bak logs too...)

I have now turned the option off in the config app but is this a known issue ?? (seems as I have not seen this before could it be a recent windows update which has broken this?)

mtn.exe crashes with some specific video content :( I personally cannot use it as I get pretty frequent crashes with that. mtn.exe is a 3rd party program so fixing it would require some volunteer to provide a patch to the original author.

Maybe as a starting step people should start to submit video samples that are able to crash mtn.exe

Had this problem for about 2 days. I turned option off and all was good. Monday i was curious and turned on again. Problem was gone. Strange! I cant help, just confirm what you write. At the moment all is best with mtn.exe
If problem retunrns and i recognize which video-content does the trouble i report here!

Just tried with what I figure was the TS file causing the problem and it just halts with an error rather than going on to hog CPU (error -42)

That said, if I try manually with any TS file I get this error...
