I am using the latest build of media portal.

I am trying to get a Gigabyte Gt-Ptv-af-Rh card to work but i get a "unable to create graph for this device!!" error. It does not seem to be in the supported card list but i have noticed that it is in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. I believe that it is a combination of both digital and analogue. The CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file seems to be trying to use the analogue part.

So i am wondering why it is not working and how/if it is possible to get it working?

It works in the software provided with the card(Cyberlink Powercinema).

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Hi Timmy and welcome to MP :)

With the definitions file, you can run into troubles where different versions of drivers give different device ids.
You can look at the properties in Windows hardware manager and see if the dev_id matches what the CCDefs file contains and modify as needed. In your case though, it seems MP does detect it in the ADD CARD section of configuration? If so, then that part is right but the graph building is failing. This is where MP assembles the correct filters to encode and play the file. Is your card Analog? if so, then I would understand that. you may need to install an analog encoder for MP to use.

There is a sticky thread called "How to get your analog card supported" follow that and report back if there are any issues.

    Hope this helps,
    Marcus.
