I recommend the HD Home Run.
I have used mine for about a year and like it very much.
The only real caveat is that an SVN in September broke Media Portal and we are still waiting for a fix.

You need to setup the TV tuner in "TV Server Configuration". There should be a shortcut on the Windows desktop. The primary action is to "scan for channels", but obviously there are other things to setup too (such as the folder to use for recordings).

I'm not sure what the issue was, but I decided to try a different way of solving the problem.
