TV Turning off when changing to/from Fullscreen (1 Viewer)

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but when I go from or to fullscreen, the TV turns off. I not only have to turn it on again, but I've lost timeshift up to when I turned the TV on again.

I am brand new at MediaPortal, but a long time TIVO user. I may not have set up timeshiftting correctly, or maybe just don't understand how it works in MP.

I'm running 1.0.2.0 with a TV-Server and a Hauppauge 1600. I'd like to be able to "turn off the TV" (close the GUI to tray) and, later, come back, turn the tv back on, and -- if I want -- slide back and watch the last XX minutes of programming. I would also, of course, like to be able to do the same while going into and out of fullscreen.

I'm sure this is all possible with MP (I am very impressed with the quality in general!), but I would appreciate some help learning how to make it happen.

Hi there and welcome

Are you talking about ALT-ENTER to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode? That is a known issue where any playing video is stopped on purpose to do the resize. I do not think it will be fixed in MP 1.

Should be low impact since most HTPC's will start in fullscreen mode. I guess you have a dual purpose PC?

Actually, I don't mind the TV turning off (that is, the video going away) on an ALT-ENTER. It is the loss of the timeshifting that is throwing me.

If I'm watching a program in fullscreen, and I get a bit behind with a pause, I have to force myself to sit and watch it all before doing ANYTHING else, because going out of fullscreen means I lose everything I hadn't watched, yet, up till when I turn the TV back on.

That doesn't seem like I'm setup correctly.
