tv window on desktop (1 Viewer)

I must be missing something simple but have not figured out how to get MediaPortal to run in a small window on the desktop.
Could someone please tell me how to do this?

If you are sitting at the keyboard, Alt-Enter will toggle between window and full screen.

If MP is starting full screen but you don't want it to, then in configuration, General, the very first item is "start mediaportal in fullscreen mode."

if you just want to watch TV or the recorded TV here is an alternative to MP. This requires VLC or similar to watch but the machine can definitely be lower spec (500Mhz 360 Ram NVidia 7300 vid card to watch SD channels) and VLC can be resized to what ever you like.......

NOTE... Requires TV Engine 3 though....

Fantastic little program for accessing your TVServer from a computer with dual screens, as Mediaportal has major problems when you try to maximise or even resize...

how to use mptvclient

I would like to try the tvclient.
Are there any step by step instructions on how to set up to use this?
I have downloaded all the listed requirements for TVserver.3.

very basic install, just install VLC (Available for free) and then configure the MPTV Client to point to VLC and the TVEngine with the correct login credentials. Like my post above, I have used it on a very old machine P3 500Mhz and SD material is fine. HD just won't cut it though.

Note that this is only for watching TV and any recorded TV you have. If you want music, VIdeos or anything MP offers, then use MP for it.

Thanks for the info, I am presently sidetracked trying to get TVengine.3 to do a scan of my HDHomerun.
Will try the new client after server is fixed.
