Tvengine or not for recording (1 Viewer)

Hi all

First thanx to the team behind mediaportal, what a nice job. It just works so nice.
I just have some performance problems with the sql server keep using resources til it gets to using over 250 mb ram, and thats also if mediaportal is not running and the cpu i using about 50-60 % all the time.

And now for my question
Do i need to have tvengine for recording things when the computer is in sleepmode/hibernate?
When i read the documentation for tv-engine 0.3 i can see in the comparison with mediaportal it says that:
"record scheduled shows when MediaPortal is not running"
mediaportal: - No

tvserver/client: - Yes

But is the mediaportal running when the computer is in hibernate?

I have client/server on the same machine and no other computers connected to it, so i dont need the tvserver

Isnt there anyone who can answer this fairly simple question.

Hi denver99,

AFAIK it means that the pc will wakeup when mediaportals _front end_ (GUI) is not running. The server part (back end) has to be running before the pc goes into standby or hibernate mode and will continue to run after the pc has woken up.

edit: If you use tvengine 0.2 without tvserver then - of course - no program is running that could set up the pc to resume from standby or hibernate if mediaportal is not running.
