Audio Lagging

Could someone, please, check why the audio starts lagging behind video?

With the latest builds, the sync is off right from the start (as of the builds from about 10 days ago it was at least OK when My TV first started.) The lagging audio started about the time the "No Video/Audio" error got fixed for me, maybe a couple of months ago.

When the channel is changed, there is a pause in both audio and video, then the video changes to the new channel, but the audio from the old channel comes back for half a second, then changes to the new channel's audio. Because of this, the audio lags more and more with each channel change.

I have tried a whole bunch of codecs, and have Default DirectSound Device selected. I rescanned again after installing this SVN. I also reinstalled Vista last week (with SP1) and it didn't help.

I am using a Hauppauge WinTV 950 in analog mode (cable.) The same card works perfectly in Sage, Vista MCE, WinTV and Nero Home.

I am attaching my logs (have done so in the past, but don't think anyone looks at them.)

Thanks!

Must be something with your configuration I don't have this problem. With DVB-S channel switching is clean and faster than ever.

    Maybe I am wrong but
SETUPPLUGIN.MSI and SETUP.MSI are dated 18.2.2008 and exactly same as SVN17406.

    Yep, that's correct.
There went something wrong during the build.
    Thanks

    Roby

As I've said, it's been happening for the last couple of months (since about the time of the clearing of the dreaded "No Audi/Video detected..." error.) I have recently done a clean install to Vista SP1, with no change.

Also, as I said, I am using the hybrid card in Analog, not DVB.
Can a developer take a look at this, please....

Adding a channel without specifying source fails

    Hi,

I would like to point out that -for some time now, at least half a year- there is an error in the tvserver application.
When I try to add an analog channel and forget to specify the 'source', which is null by default, SQLServer errors, but the error is not noticed by the application.

This is pretty annoying. Just when I thought I had added 37 analog channels....

Of course, we all know the source of the error; in the definition of table TUNINGDETAILS, almost every column has the NOT NULL attribute set.

The easiest way to overcome this IHMO is to set the application default to 'Antenna' when adding a channel. Or anything else for that matter.

The more sophisticated way would be to check for errors after each and every database operation.

    Just my $0,02.

    :D
