Please stop you tvservice and don't have any MP programs running. If you are using Vista please disable UAC

Two way of fixing this issue:

1) Disable UAC, reboot, reinstall

2) Open a cmd.exe with the "Run as Administrator" flag, then from there type "msixec /I Setup.msi".

Thanks, I allready solved it. tv-server was still running after deïnstallation.

I deleted all MP/TVServer stuff and the MS-SQL tables on the server, reinstalled MP+TVServer and researched the TV Channels (DVB-S Astra 19,2). I disabled EPG grabbing and tested it on all my clients and got confusing problems. I use on all clients the PowerDVD 7 codec. Here are the testing steps for them:

client 1 - Windows Vista:

- MyTV starts on MDR Sachsen, picture judders a little bit on camera moves and moving persons
- OSD is fast
- channel change works fine, but I have an all channels the same judderproblem, my channel changes: MDR - ARD - ZDF - ZDF Info - ZDF Doku - ZDF Theater - EinsExtra - EinsFestival - EinsPlus - Nick Germany
- close MP


Samsung Q35 Intel Centrino Notebook with Windows XP Pro:

- MyTV starts on ARD, after 2sec sound stops for half a second, then it works, but has the same judder problems like client 1 on Windows Vista
- changes to ZDF, MDR Sachsen and EinsExtra work
- change to EinsFestival - first 10sec no sound, then picture freezes but sound works, 10sec later TV works, but judders a bit
- change to EinsPlus works, judders
- close MP


client 1 - Windows XP Pro:

- MP starts on ZDF, works fine, doesnt judder
- change to ARD, first 20sec no sound, then picture freezes but sound works, 20sec later TV works, doesnt judder
- changes to MDR Sachsen and RBB Brandenburg work
- change to EinsFestival, first 5sec no sound, then picture freezes but sound works, 5sec later TV works
- change to EinsPlus, first 5sec no sound, then picture freezes but sound works, 5sec later TV works
- close MP


Server - MP:

- MyTV starts on 3sat, works fine
- changes to ARD, ZDF, EinsExtra, EinsFestival, EinsPlus work, no freeze or judder problems


client 2:

- MyTV starts on MDR Sachsen, no problems
- OSD is a bit slow, picture freezes while opening OSD
- changes to ARD and ZDF work
- change to MDR Sachsen, sound judders sometimes
- changes to EinsExtra, EinsFestival, EinPlus and Nick Germany work
- change to ARD - picture judders very hard, 2 or 3frames a second
- close MP

After some testing (daily use), I have to say that overall useabillity has degraded from version 17523 on.

17523 works fine with all the difficult stuff like standby/hibernate radio/movie/tv switching. After that version things don't go smooth anymore. Sometime tv servers exits without a reason, sometimes the mpg2 decoder hangs (doesn't matter what version) and so on and so on.
Also watching a 'difficult' tv channel like MTV or Extreme sports resuls now more often in a non-responive MP-gui.

I know there are no logs added, but it is just something I wanted to say.

Keep up the good work guys. (anything better than Microsoft's XXX).

Ignore the little judderproblems, I reinstalled PowerDVD 7, the patch and Mediaportal on these clients and it works now, but the channel change problems and the hard judder problem on client 2 are not gone.

Powerschedular and EPG problems/failure/bugs when MP GUI client active.

An overnight test of the tvserver running on its own and as you can see from the logs EPG grabs and powerschedular activity worked without flaws, hibernation etc also worked fine with three shedules and hibernation between.

Later in the test MP GUI Client was run and that is when problems started with bugs in the EPG grab and the failure of the powerschedular to poll activity correctly/at all with the ensuing failure of hibernation when idle

At this point the MP GUI will not exit cleanly and has to be killed via task manager. Restarting MP GUI fails and the vservice has to be stoped usualy via reboot as the poserschedular plugin has failed and locked the service.

Possibly the client plugin has some bugs?
