Yes, from time to time the version has changes that needs changes in the database. Since this is the development snapshots there is no automated upgrade. This is just part of being a development tester ..

You could try to export channels before you upgrade and keep the xml file just in case, but still this is no guarantee. I would reccomend you scan and set up everything when this happens.

    Sometimes that arrives indeed.
But there it is with each launching of the TVServer application.

Yes, happens for me too. No matter if I delete the database myself or allow it to perform its action. Also, any changes made in the TV channel listning doesn't seem to carry over, ie, the channels keep their first name.

    I'm using the MySQL database.

    I've just tried the following:

    1. Stop the TVE3 Service
    2. Uninstall the TV Server
    3. Delete the tvlibrary mysql database
    4. === Reboot ===
    5. Install TV Server
    6. Configure it
    7. Close the config tool
    8. Start the config tool again, and...

    Presto!

Any nightly build after tvengine3-08-16-2007--01-22h--Rev15546 won't work with a mysql database. Don't know about SQL Server, but it is likely that it works considering that there aren't many reports of this problem.

It's VERY easy to reproduce. Just install a fresh nightly build and configure it for MySQL5. When you've gotten to the starting window of the configure tool for TVE3, just click OK (to close the app) and then start it again. This time, it will complain about stream & value (see screenshot above).

I also extracted the tvlibrary database and there is no field called "stream" or "Value" so it almost seems like the auto update feature finds that the database is too old (no stream field) but the create routine doesn't add it, causing an infinite loop.

There seem to be a lot of problems now building up over the last two weeks releases.

The TVService fails to stop and start cleanly from the commnd console, service management or TVSETUP.

The TVservice fails to start at boot.

TVServer timeshift files aen't deleted when clients (local or network) disconnect.

MP setup fails to start cleanly causing a hang that can last indefinatly at 'MAP; using default mappings for direct input', the next line shold be to do with the weather plugin

(this doesn't affect VISTA32; XP it occurs more often after an SVN instal but w2k it occurs regularly and the 'configuration.e' appears in the task manager instead of 'configutaion.exe'

MP startup wait for TVSERVICE or specific time fails.

MP blank screen while idle is now 'white' instead of 'black', this also causes a VM leak over a long period of time.

I had this problem this morning, now I uninstalled the MySQL database and I am using MS SQL. It now works ok, I still had to rebuild my channel list though which is a PIA.

Anyway it works with MS SQL but not MySQL.
