Hello everyone, Darre has previously given me some answers but unfortunately i don't think i have been posting in the correct area so thought i would start a new thread so as to target a larger audience and hopefully someone can offer some assistance.
I installed tvseries last night and configured it as much as possible, i inputted all the directories for where media is stored and did a search...i would say 75% was found and this was great, due to some of the naming on files/folders it couldn't determine what the other 25% was so this is a big job to go through and rename everything but i don't mine as long as it works.
But i have a couple of questions; i've got a lot tv series (mentioning no names) and i folderise everything and this is how all the folders are structured (z:\'tv show name'\'tv show series'\'the its a list of episodes) so if i've got a tv series with say 4 series then each series is in its own folder.
Now after i had searched in the configuration panel i then went into the media portal and opened the 'MyTvSeries' after a while of messing around i managed to get a load of banners come up on the left hand side, each banner has a image that corresponds to the series (fantastic) BUT i get loads of them coming up for each series folder, for instance i get about 18 odd banners all with the same image coming up due to the 18 odd different folders that are from the same tv show.....what can i do to fix this other than sticking all the media from all the series folders into one main folder? I can do this, but for ease of explore navigation i would prefer not to so is there a simple solution. What i want from the main page is banners for every different tv show, when this is clicked i would like it to then show a banner for each of the series and then inside them a list of the files. This would make navigation easy, as you can drill down through the directory structure but with nice graphical banners....is this possible? I looked at the screen shot of xface skin showing a folder for '24' with the background image and a list of episodes....its looks brilliant!
Im also having issues my tv card, I bought the Hauppauge Nova HD S2 card and managed to set this up to the Astra satellite using my Sky dish and quad LNB and found loads of channels, it worked, i could watch 'some' of the channels and i understand that i can't watch the scrabbled ones until i get a CI, CAM and card and intend to you get these and use my sky card but i have a problem...for some reason i now get an error when trying to tune into a channel, the error reads 'Failed to start TV Unable to connect audio pin' or 'Failed to start TV Unable to connect MPG2 pin' I am assuming this is to do with the codec its trying to use but have tried changing this and it still comes up with the same errors. How can i fix this? Am i supposed to use the Astra Sat or to another, im a newbie to all of this so sorry for the questions. I have installed the latest k-lite codec pack after uninstalling the old er pack i was using.
Another problem i have is with my dual 22" monitor setup i can't fullscreen on the second monitor, how is this possible?
Hope someone can advise me as to how i can fix it, i have now started using the xface skin and WOW i can't get over the cool DVD/CD 3D cases for the folder artwork its magic, as soon as i get the tvseries plugin and tv tuner working i shall deploy the MP solution to all media PC's in the house as its leaps and bounds ahead of the competition (and trust me when i say i've used a few...all i've been doing for the past 2 months is test different solutions but could never find a package that offered so much flexibility and scalability than with MP)
I’m at work at the moment but if you need further specs or an MP log then I shall be able to get these a little later.
I shall (waiting on payday) be making a contribution to MP as a thank you to all your hard work.
Regards
Andy
