First of all, let me say that I've done a quick bit of searching through the forums and I haven't found the specific answers I'm looking for - however if a thread or wiki page, etc. adresses my questions then a quick link would be just as appreciated as a thourough re-explanation.
Forgot to say, latest version of MP (1.1.0 alpha.) running on XP SP3 with Microsoft remote kit (registry settings disabled as per IR Server Suite instructions) and Mediaportal reccomended hotfixes installed. Tried the stable build previously and got same results.
The most important stuff is at the end; the stuff thats keeping me from being able to use MP at all. Please skip there if you think you can help
I've installed TVSERVER on my intended server machine with a Hauppauge WinTV card connected to a set top box via S-video (actually composite at the moment; shuffling connections around
) and have a microsoft blaster attached.
I've got mc2xml supplying EPG data; and all of this appears to be set up correctly.
For my setup, I would have to add all channels manually with the input set as S-Video, then import my XMLTV data and assign those to my channels in the mappings tab, right? I'd then enable serverblaster plugin and assign my TVCard.
My question is, can I do it backwards - I.E. import my XMLTV data and automatically create channels from it, then go back and set the input; or do I really have to seperately add each channel?
Is there any way to add all the channels I need at once having them all set to S-video input, or even to add all possible channels set to S-video an then go back and disable the ones I don't need?
Or for that matter is there some way to edit the database with a simple tool to copy-paste the channels i need and then go back and edit the channel number?
(hopefully that made sense)
EDIT - Okay so I've done a bunch more forum searching and came up with the conclusion that serverblaster is broken. Okay. Read some more - IR Server suite works instead. Okay. Now I installed mediaportal and then IRSS w/MP & MP-TV Server plugins.
Great.
When I go into TV Server config and enable "TV3 Blaster plugin for IR Server", I can't config... the config page never shows up...
The title changes and the plugin shows as selected but nothing happens... Ideas?
The last thing is; when trying to watch TV on a test channel (antenna connected to tuner, preview works in TV-server Config) via mediaportal - I get an error; "Unable to start timeshifting live4-0.ts.tsbuffer" I believe is what it said. I've made sure that the directories exist.
