Hi
I installed twinhan driver just plain using the exe file, but I am having wierd prob in MP and now I kind of wonderingen if I shouldn't have installed it differently. In the readme for the drivers it says ----
Twinhan BDA driver for DVB-S/-T/-C/ATSC

For differnet applications, please install with the corresponding INF files.

For non-MCE but BDA based application (like ShowShift) or DVB-S/DVB-C/ATSC, please install with the dfault "THBDA.inf".
For MCE2005 Emerald-Rollup 2, please install with the default "THBDA.inf".

For previous MCE2005 & DVB-T, please install the corresponding inf files in the folder \INF,
1. In Australia, please install with "THBDA_MCE_AU.inf".
2. In Taiwan, please install with "THBDA_MCE_TW.inf".
3. In UK(VHF/UHF:8MHz, like UK), please install with "THBDA_MCE_UK.inf". (The default "THBDA.inf" should also work.)
4. In Europe(VHF:7/UHF:8MHz, like Germany), please install with "THBDA_MCE_EU.inf".
(The default "THBDA.inf" should also work.)

So my question for u twinhan dvb-t + CI people is: How/which one did YOU install?

My prob is that mp terminates without warning after xx minutes when recording.no message at all just a crash, and the last thing I see in the log is
2006-03-03 12:48:20 Twinhan: send PMT cam:viaccess 1 len:152 video:0x40F audio:0x40E
2006-03-03 12:48:20 SetStructure() returned ok 0x0
2006-03-03 12:48:31 DVBDemuxer:stopped receiving DVB packets

The problem "seems" to only happen when a recording is taking place without the TV is ON

I have applied all patches and the mce patch

Does this maybe have something to do with timeshift not on.I have read that some have prob with that...

I also have a second card, a pvr250

dont know if i can help as im still having trouble with my install with regards to getting the picture to display without been choppy,

anyway i installed the drivers from the cd autorun thing (not bda drivers) them downloaded the latest bda ones from the twinhan website. in device manager in updated the drivers to the THBDA.inf in the windows xp subfolder for the driver download pack, it all seemed to work ok.

Other people might be able to help with the crashing part, as it could be due anything, might be best to post the system details

so u had non dba and now bda?
have u applied all the fixes, I think alot of people agree that those help

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=8146

I just tried to remove the second card(the pvr250) and schedules a recording. MP didn't bail, but the recording could not be played!!!It was corrupt. by the way I thought dvb cards recorded in ts not in dvr-ms.oh well.

edit:
just looked at the mediaportal.log and tv stops suddenly and then starts again... the log says

i applied the fixes but the second one didnt install, its is for media player 10 and i have 9 so i thought just stick with 9 as the media portal wiki (i think) said that you must have version 9 or higher. Is it worth bothering upgrading or not.

To make a bit more sense i installed the twinham drivers for their software to confirm the cards worked, which they did  , then "updated" the drivers to the bda one from the website.

From what i know (limited) the TS stream is made up of mpeg packets which the hardware sorts out in to a continuous stream, just like when you downloaded stuff of the net, you sned it the PID (program id??) and it only extracts those packets, dvr-ms is just a mpeg stream with microsoft stuff added on to it.

You can download a transport stream in full and view it with some software, which is like downlaoding 3 or 4 (or how ever may there are) channels in that stream, so if you had a fast computer to decode the transport streams and 6 dvb-t cards you could in theory record all of the broadcast tv in the uk at the same time  , its just the decoding of what you want to watch that will be the problem, and saturating the pci bus, and the hard drive space required, so it probably not a good idea.

dont know what is the problem with your card but try the usual, swap the cards positon, try a different driver version, also try the card with the twinhan software for time shifting (you will need the other drivers)

edit:
just remember the other drivers are called, wdm (ie the non bda ones)

Please post a support template. Pretty please?

I mean, for example, I can't even tell what version of MediaPortal you have, whether you are using a CVS version, what renderers, etc.

I'll post a new entry with a bug and will settle for the answer about the driver here. It got a little wrong. to much questions at once. Sorry about that
