    Hi,

Just a very quick question before I mess up my system.

I know that with the "standard" MediaPortal, if you wish to use dual DVB-T cards with Windows XP versions other than MCE, you have to install two files from MCE. Personally, I never got this working correctly, although others obviously have.

With TVEngine 3, is this still a requirement, or does it just work with a standard XP home or XP pro installation? Is there a theoretical and/or practical limit on the number of TV cards of various types? (I am thinking of a couple of Nova-T 500s).

    Best wishes,

    Mark

DVB-Fix has to be installed ,found here.

I extract mine to the programs\team mediaportal folder and run the bat file from there, never had a problem with them not registering correctly.

The real limit of TV cards is motherboard connections and how good your aerial signal is when split to feed more than 1 card.

It is my understanding that since the TVEngine 3 does not use the Microsoft Stream Buffer Engine, then that MCE patch for DVB cards is not required on Win XP ... :)

I haven't actually tried it, though - so I could be wrong ...

    Hi,

That was what I thought, although when I check, the information is from another of your posts.

Not wishing to second guess anyone really, but is there anyone (Frodo?) who knows for sure, and can answer?

Failing that, I'll have to give it a go and report back.

    Best wishes,

Put it this way, it ain't going to break anything.

I'm on my 3rd Dual DVB-T pc and it works fine with the fix, even running TVE3.
