Two Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H, only one working? (1 Viewer)

Has anybody had any success using two identical Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900H USB cards?

I've built a system with one such card and it worked pretty well (I'm only using the DVB-T part), but after I added one (including reinstall, etc.) I still can only use one of the two cards. Basically, the second card is recognised but fails to work (no channels found if I try the scan function, second timeshift fails if I try to connect more than one client), I tried to temporarily disable the first card (in TV Server configuration) and the second one did work (but, still, it was the only card actually running, I just wanted to prove that the card was not faulty).

Is there any known TV Server issue which prevents it to work properly when two identical cards are available?

I'm currently using 1.0.2 stable but my 1.1 Alpha+SVN test system also had the same issue (I spent no time troubleshooting this, though).

I can provide logs and perform specific tests, if any developer is willing to look into this...

Thanks in advance!

I kept experimenting, trying to find a solution or at least the answer to "is this a MediaPortal TV Server issue or a driver issue" but I still got no clear idea about what's going on here...

What I discovered is that basically only one of the two cards can be tuned at the same time: I changed TV Server code so that the card priority is ignored (overwritten with random values), this way I can see that by starting/stopping timeshifting (either from a client or from SetupTV) both cards do work, but only one at a time. This means that graphs are built correctly, there is no apparent difference between which card is started first, still the tuning fails if I try to start a second timeshifting from another client when one card is already timeshifting.

The only thing I see in the logs is the "Timed out waiting for PMT after 10 seconds" (usually PMT is found in less that 1 second). I cannot understand how the whole PMT stuff is handled in TV Server code, so I stopped my investigation here.

Meanwhile, I posted also on the Hauppauge UK forum...

Although it looks like nobody is interested in this thread, I just want to "close" it with a comment from the Hauppauge UK forum: the current HVR-900H driver only supports one card.
