Hi all,

because the PowerScheduler did not work with the new TVServer3 in the moment, I decided to provide two small tools I wrote some times ago.

The first tool is wakeup.exe.
This tool wake up your PC from standby some minutes before the next scheduled recording starts. Therefor it connects to the MSSQL or to the MySQL Database and determine the next recording time.
For the database connection it will use the ODBC Driver, which must be installed.

The second tool is IdleShutdown.
This tool monitors the 'cpu load', 'HD/DVD activity' and 'Network activity' and put your PC into standby/hibernate if it is idle.

I hope these tools are helpful until frodo has implemented the PowerScheduler for the TVEngine3.

    Hi Peter Pan,

thanks for your work, good work. But unfortunately i guess that it's not that long until Powerscheduler will be integrated in TVE3 :-|

Thank you Peter Pan, I just recently discovered IdleShutdown and it's very useful to me.

I use it in the following way:

htpc-01 (server and client) Also hosting all documents and av files
    htpc-02 (client)
    htpc-03 (client)

I installed the program on htpc-01 and configured it like this:
    CPU 25
    HD 1500
    System 20
    IP 100

If htpc-01 playing anything, then CPU, HD and System will be higher than above figures, therefor will not standby.
If htpc-02 and 03 playing anything, then IP will be higher than 100, therefor will not standby.
If nothing playing anywhere, htpc-01 will standby :)

    Thanks again for this program.

    Thank you Peter

Would it be possible that you and frodo work together to merge this load monitoring function into PowerScheduler? This is something that is definitly missing there.

I have a SqueezeServer on my server machine which must be able to prevent ShutDown while somebody is streaming from it. At the moment I have a very complicated solution: As soon as SqueezeServer starts, it starts a little dummy command.exe which is defined in PowerScheduler to prevent shutdown. When SqueezeServer stops, it does a taskkill on this dummy command.exe to re-enable ShutDown...
