Is anyone using the UIRT with their Hauppauge remote?

I don't know how to load, or what to load, in to MP in place of the windows MCE remote.

I understand I should have an rm file for the remote I intend to use. I don't know where to get the Hauppauge remote file that is compatible with MP. I'm also unsure where to put that .rm file in the MP installation.

what do you mean by the the UIRT or what is it? I have a Hauppauge remote that I am trying to work out and set up. i thought i saw some instuctions on the Portal site about how to set up a remote a while back. however, i cannot find them at the moment. Please let me know how you go. It would be good to have some simple step by step instructions on how to set up the Hauppauge remote with Portal.

USB UIRT = USB Infrared Reciever / Transmitter
The device can be found at: USB-UIRT Home

The UIRT is capable of sending IR signals as well as receiving them. Of course you need software offered by other parties. I recommend EventGhost.

You might be thinking of the MP Wiki article for setting up the Huappauge remotes found at: Link

The difference for me is that I'm not using the Huappauge IR reciever. Just their remote control.
So after choosing UIRT instead of Hauppauge. How do I add in the remote commands of the Huappauge remote instead of the MCE?

in the config of mp under remote click on usbuirt. there is a button where you can learn the commands. i suppose you have to learn each command...
by the way you have to enable the expert settings view in the configs....somewhere on the top of the window

Hi Paddy

The Huappauge IR reciever comes with the Huappauge remote control and it looks like the universal one that you sent me a web link to. If you did not receive the Huappauge IR reciever they may have accidentally forgot to include it in the parcel.
