Having done a fresh install of MP 1.0.1.0 as a single seat installation I am finding that I am unable to tune any channels from DVB-S.

This was working fine in MP 1.0.0.0 where there was a tuning file for 28.2E Freesat, where it picked up all the UK Freesat channels including BBC-HD and ITVHD without a problem, however I note that that is not available in 1.0.1.0.

I have tried tuning using the option for 28.2E Eurobird 1 Astra 2A,2B,2D however whilst the signal level is showing around 80% and upwards and signal quality is 100%, each transponder reports the error "Nothing Found". It is clear that I'm getting a lock.

I have tried copying the 28.2E Freesat .ini file from a 1.0.0.0 installation and using that in the 1.0.1.0 install however same result (presumably as the 28.2E Freesat .ini was just a cut down version of the full 28.2E file).

I've attached the logs from the Tv-Server log directory.

DVB-T (from the same card) is working fine.

This really kills 1.0.1.0 for me but it's otherwise superb so would like to stick with it so if anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Keep up the excellent work.

Cheers

Paddy

Edit : Resolved by restarting tvservice. It would though be useful to have the 28.2E Freesat tuning .ini file included in 1.0.1.0

Thanks for the heads up however I was seeing a different issue. No idea what was causing my problem but a restart of the Tv service seems to have done the trick :D

I'd already come across that one and resolved using the fix provided :D

Yes I noticed that the freesat tuning details did not show in version 1.0.1.0, as they had in version 1.0.0.0. I thought it was me, and I must of added them in somewhere in a plugin. Obviously not. Glad it will be fixed in 1.0.2.0 :D

I'm not sure that's the fix that was mentioned for 1.0.2.0, that fix is for TV cards not showing up.

The 2.8E Freesat option is easy to resolve though.

I installed just TV Server from 1.0.0.0 (still available on Sourceforge) on another machine and just copied the 28.2E Freesat.ini file over to the new 1.0.1.0 install. Not sure if it's needed but I also added the relevant line in satellites.xml and all is good.

IIRC in Vista the files are in (based on default install values) C:\Program Files\Team Media Portal\TV server\Tuning Parameters

    Cheers

I would like to see the freesat option back as well. what is the point of scanning 600+ channels you are not going to use??
