Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio xl-201 with a set top box connected through rca->composite video adapter.

I can acquire the composite source from any software (VLC, AverMedia Media Center, Windows Media Center, etc...), but not with MediaPortal with or without tvengine in the lastest svn versions.

I add the special channel with the right button but when I try to do the preview TVEngine shows me an Unkown Error. I also the the s-video connection with the same result.

I also updated the driver with the latest from avermedia, but nothing to do.

Is there some problem with the capture device definition?

I don't know, but I would like to use this wonderful software for my htpc.

Please, help me.

Thanks in advance,

David

    Hi David

Give some more detail about the errors you get, and also upload your MediaPortal logs. It is very difficult for us to help you without it.

    Thanks GeoV,

    thanks for your answer.

I don't see logs in TVEngine.

Instead, in MediaPortal.log I don't see any stack trace.

I also switched the log information level in the configuration.

    But nothing.

Can you explain me what I have to do for catching the error above?

    Thanks very much,

    David

    Link just in case needed.

I take it you have the avermedia software still installed.

Could you get your card working with one of the software versions that work (not VLC), and then "connect to remote graph" with graphedit, take a screenshot and upload to here, using the advanced features + button

is it a cannot create graph error message you are getting, logs seem to have a couple of dubious bits, but they are not clear cut for me to diagnose.

    Thanks

    Hi Ray,

when I try to "connect to remote graph" a window appears without any selectable remote filters.

I used Avermedia Media center, TV and Beyond TV.

Have I to install one of the three commercial encoders recommended in the link above?

So just that i understand correctly..

Start lets say Avermedia in windowed mode with live TV running.

You then run graphedits "connect to remote graph" and this shows nothing to connect to.

What happens if you do the same thing with Windows Media Centre.

yes might be worthwhile trying a commercial trial package to see if it will work.

    And now?

Do I try to install those packages or have I to wait your analysis?
