sorry for my english but i'm italian and i don't know well the english, i've a problem...i installed mediaportal 1.0 5 days ago...i configure the tv server and it function...but yesterday when i uninstall cyberlink powercinema (i don't know if it is that the problem), i remove the asus hid plugin, for a mistake i'll delete the files of the PsisDecd.dll patch (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ner-issue-channel-scan-crash-windows-xp-6344/) and the tv stopped working... the tv server find the channels...but when i enter in the tv plugin in mediaportal he asked the ip address or the host name..i insert the same of the tvserver (the tv card is in the same pc of the mediaportal) but the tv give exactly this message:unable to connect to the tv server
connected to the database
all ip ports seem to be fine
i try to uninstall and reinstall...delete all the files, change the database from sql server to mysql, reinstall powercinema, reinstall the patch but the problem persists.. what can i do?

Hi phate89,

is your TV-Service stated? You can test it. Stop MP, open TV-Server configuration, if you get the question to start TV-Sevice, this Service starts not with Windows. Then I can help you.

That's interesting,

I think a clean instalation can help you. Unistall MP and mysql, than delete the instalationfolder of MP and mysql, than the configurationfolder you can find them on C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Useres\Anwendungsdaten\Media Portal. Sorry I know only the german foldernames. I hope this can help you.

Regards Christian:)

Hi,

i had exactely the same problem you described - the only difference for me was that my client was running on another PC.

To make it work i had to specify the hostname instead of the IP-Address of the TV-Server in Configuration (Television -> TV Client -> General Settings)
So in your case try "localhost" or try the real hostname of your machine - don't use the ip-address.

I hope it helps ...

cheers,
stovy
