I did a clean install for MediaPortal and configured it using configuration.exe. when installing the tv cards, I could watch the channels after I downloaded them. in mediaportal, i could watch tv.
the tvguide is obtained from an existing xml file. i have deleted any channels that could not be assigned.

then i wanted to change the recording folder for both cards. after that, i got an error " unable to create graph" everytime the tuner needs to be started. i can watch recorded tv, so it seems to have something to do with streaming to disk.
i already tried:
- changing the folder location back, deleting the SBE folder
- changing codecs
- updating the drivers

then from a post on the forum, i saw that i could also install the cards in the GUI. I did so, and everything works fine. Then i want to change the location for the recording location again and the error is back.
also, before the error comes up it takes a long time for the tv module to start.

i checked that the account i use is an adminstrator account.

I know there were some changes to DirectShowLib about a week(?) ago. What version of Media Portal are you running right now? Your support template just says RC.

that would be 0.2.3.0 release candidate 3, the one that is still the current download on the frontpage.

you mean I should try to download an SVN build?

no result with current SVN build.

i think it is so strange that when i configure the card in the gui, everything works perfect. as soon as is start the configuration program and edit one of my capture cards I get the message unable to create graph for this device. then there is a very long freeze and then i can edit the capture card (i.e. set the recording folder).
then when i start mediaportal, I have the problem again.

ps i saw some references to a problem with an elecard codec, i ruled that out.
and also, there must be something very strange going on if everything works when you install from gui, but it goes wrong when you use the configuration program.

this still doesn't work. i'm at a loss... a hauppauge pvr 150 and pvr 150 mce card should be pretty common I should think...
