I've looked through other topics, but as yet can't figure out the problem... here's the filled out template:

Area: Media Portal Program
MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0 (2006-07-03)
MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo
Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2)
.NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727
DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c)
Audio Codec: MPA Decoder Filter
Video Codec: MPV Decoder Filter
CPU Type: AMD Athlon XP - 1.1GHz
Memory: 479 MB
Motherboard: FN41 (Shuttle Inc)
TV Card Model: DigitalNow DNTV Live! DVB-T
TV Card Type: DVB-T
TV Card Driver: 4.0.108.3 (Latest)
Video Card Model: Nvidia Geforce4 MX Integrated Gpu (32 MB)
Video Card Driver: 91.31
Video Card Resolution: 720x576
Video Render Type: -
Audio Card Model: NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio
Audio Card Driver: -
Synopsis::

Was getting "No signal" problems (very very frequently) and so I decided to update the driver version of DVB-T card to latest to see if that fixed the problem. Now I get "Unable to create graph" in both the MP Setup and My TV (ie. it's totally out of action now :(. I downgraded to previous version of DVB-T driver which used to work, but it's having the same problem.... I've also tried reinstalling MP and also regsvr32 on all the .ax files in windows\system32.

Is there anything else I should try before reinstalling windows?

I've got the startup log if that will help.

tia!

Yeah, I read that before but it doesn't help. I've got the latest video card drivers and latest DVB-T drivers, plus it's an nVidia card and not ati.

What I'm trying to say is that the definition of your card in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml probably doesn't match anymore since you installed the new driver.

Have a look at the file and see if you can tell why it doesn't match. It might be the big long dev-id, or they might have changed the assignment of the pins you can see in the .xml file. You can see the dev-id in the control panel->system->devices->{device}->properties->details

Also search for "graphedit" in these forums.

Ok, I looked into this and the devid was slightly different... but when I changed it MP couldn't find the device at all, so I changed it back to what it was and MP found the device but I still got the graph error.

or they might have changed the assignment of the pins you can see in the .xml file.

Not sure what to look for here. Here is the relevant bit in the xml file, but don't if this is right or wrong (I played with graphedit a bit, but that didn't help).

Code:
(capturecard commercialname="DNTV Live DVB-T (Tuner 1)" capturename="DNTV Live! Transport Stream Capture Tuner 1" devid_test="pci\ven_14f1&dev_8800&subsys_a8a617de&rev_05\4&38109ab8&0&3040" devid="ven_14f1&dev_8802&subsys_a8a617de&rev_05")
    (capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"/)
    (tv)
      (interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"/)
      (filters)
        (filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft DVBT Network Provider" checkdevice="false"/)
        (filter cat="tunerdevice" name="DNTV Live! BDA DVB-T Tuner/Demod Tuner 1" checkdevice="true"/)
(filter cat="capture" name="DNTV Live! Transport Stream Capture Tuner 1"	checkdevice="true"/)
      (/filters)
      (connections)
		(connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice"	sinkpin="0"/)
		(connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"/)
      (/connections)
    (/tv)
  (/capturecard)
(I've changed the gt's and lt's to brackets because the forum kept stripping them out)

anything else I can try?

hi

do you installed an video encoder (I mean not the video codec!!)?

My prob was, that I have not installed an video encoder like Win DVD from InterVideo!

Try it... take the trial from WinDVD and test it.

If you use the graphedit tool, you can examine the definitions and names of the BDA filters + pins that the driver has added. I can't remember off the top of my head where they will be but it's worth while having a look.

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...&postorder=asc&highlight=2400i+graph&start=15

Or maybe try the last page of the above topic.

I really don't know what I'm looking for with the graphedit tool... would the pins likely to be anything other than 0?

It seems to me that MP can't find some filter (see my second post in this thread). It's getting a file not found when starting - is there a way to find out what file it's looking for?

Hi Chris,

will try it tomorrow... but this was working - all I did was update the DVB-T drivers.
