Hello!

All my hopes had layed on MP 1.1 Final to get this problem solved, but it wasen't so i have to write at all... :

I have an DVB-T and a DVB-C card in my HTPC... they both partially recieves the same programs (same name/provider name) and MP combines these channels automatically...

The great problem i have:

- sometimes, when the wheather is bad, i have signal loss on DVB-T, so i must be able to force recordings via DVB-C
- sometimes, i want to record or watch programs that is only available via DVB-C, so i must be able to force recordings via DVB-T

But, i can't do so!! Cause MP chooses the cards in it's very own way... so i have recordings with scrambled eggs from time to time and the biggest loose was: i was watching world cup with friends and mediaportal suddenly stopped the live tv for scheduled recording... i was really glad about that issue!!!

So i know, i can set the cards priority and other things... but, should i really have to walk every time to TV-Server settings to force MP to do so as i wish?

All i want is to have each channel from each card seperately in the apericate channel-list... not more... and not less...

I have tried to trick MP out this way: i scanned one card first, have renamed all channels manually and then scanned the other card... but MP has combined the channels again...

So please can be someone so kind, to tell me, how i can uncombine these channels and have them seperateley? Where is my fail?

So this is my very last issue with MP, i am using it over 4 years and from every version it get's better and better, so i have to thank at all for this masterpiece of software, but with this issue i really need help :D

HOW TO decombine channels???

thanks in advance and regards
resa

Unfortunately you cannot uncombine a channel.

For 0002853: Adding and editing channels does not match MP channel handling. - MediaPortal Bugtracker the scanning has changed. It will no longer combine the channels based on the name. That would mean that when that is released you can split the channels by rescanning.

Another option (which is a lot of work): Add / Edit the channels manually. Add a new channel with one of the two tuningdetails, and remove that tuningdetail from the old channel.

In the meanwhile... i have done it already this hard way... deleting one from the combis and add them manually..

This was the one and only way to do so... "only" 28 channels ... hehe ...

But now i understand ... why there is an 1.2 to come instead the announced 2.0 after the 1.1 :D

Sure, MP is a really nice peace of Software, best Mediacenter in da hood... but it is every single install an extremly mess to configure it 100% for your personell needs, it takes 2-4 days for complete setup (incl. all details like plugins, skins, movie-db and so on)...

But: on 0.2.30 i needed ~5 complete new-installs to set it up... on 1.0.2.0 i needed 2 times... it seems really this time i'll get it in only one complete install, and i only mess up with configuring a bit ... so, let me say, you are on the right way, guys ;-))

And it is okay to have this action every 2 years, for that benefit i have from it :D

.. so may you can take notice of another behavior, if not reported already: sometimes the tv-server config doesn't accepts changes to the checkboxes in tv-channels/group editing... after mark on one of the tabs you have to save/close and re-open tv-server config before making another changes on another tab..., else all settings will be refused and you have to do it again and again...

so keep on rocking, thx for all and regards

Hi, i also have this problem with the combined channels. I found out, that after importing the TV-Server channel-settings, the channels with same name were combined. Thats very bad, because i have many different channels from different satellites with the same name, this independent channels were combined to one. And i cant choose or uncombine this channels.

Edit: I solve my problem! I deleted my TV-Server DB and import the Channel-Setting again, and now no channels were combined.
To delete DB call SetupTv.exe with this parameters then click "Test" and then "Delete":
Code:
"C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\SetupTv.exe" --delete-db
