Hi,

I am using XMLTV with unicode program names from TVxb, but the importer appears to have some problems. I am using MySQL 5.0. The imported chinese characters appear as ??. (This problem existed since the feature was added in the SVN build, I can only get it to work properly the first time it is imported... and now totally not at all)

In addition, even with the names working properly, recording (in the SVN builds before the RC1) doesn't work. I have not been able to test it with RC1 since the import doesn't even work right. [Might be because the TS writer doesn't support writing to unicode filenames... and thus only the XML file is correctly written]

I have attached a sample of the TVguide from TVxb.

x86 Vista server+client (TVengine, MP)
x64 Vista client

Thanks.

Did you set the locale to Chinese? Can you record to *.mpg format with unicode filenames?

I can also confirm that importing tvxb generated TVGuide.xml encoded in utf-8 doesn't import well in MySQL v5.0.51 DB.

I think it worked OK with one of the latest v0.2.3 SVN but I can't remember which one was it.

Characters that bug me are EE accented characters (ŠĐČĆŽžćčđš). If I manually correct these entries in MySQL's tvlibrary DB programms table - they show up correctly in GUI (TV Guide).

Great news! Everything works fine with MySQL!

Instead of Hebrew, the EPG only showed "????????". Also, when typing channel name in TvServer configuration, it replaced the names with "???????". Moving to MySQL fixed the problem.

JaLooNz, please make sure you indeed use MySQL. Choosing MySQL on installation is not enough. When first running TvServer Configuration, you are prompt for SQL and password. Make sure you select MySQL.
