Uninstall Error: MSVCR71.dll cannot be found (1 Viewer)

MP Version: 0.2.0 RC2/4
Skin: standard
Windows Version: XP Pro SP2
CPU Type: P4 @ 3000 MHz
Memory: 2gig (4 x 512 DDR SRAM)
Motherboard Chipset: Gigabyte (8IPE1000-G)
Video Card: ATI AIW
Video Card Driver: Latest Omega Drivers

I'm not certain the rest of the support template is relevant but when I went to install RC4 over RC2, I got the above error, which prevented me from opening ANY file in XP Pro. I eventually had to do a system restore with my Norton utilities. However, when I tried to uninstall the entire program, I got the same problem. The only solution was to reinstall the program.

Is this a known bug?

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

This is not MP related, maybe you removed some Microsoft runtimes by accident? Looks like it, that one is part of MS C++ runtime.

Thanks for the reply. However, it ONLY happens when I try to remove Media Portal. I re-installed RC4 last night and everything seems ok so far.
