Upcoming episodes are unwatched... (1 Viewer)

...obviously. But should they appear in the Unwatched view?

Let me start by saying I'm loving this plugin - coupled with uTorrent's RSS downloader, it's just awesome!

My issue is possibly a bug, possibly systemic, or possibly just me being an idiot! When I have the system set up to download all series information, it pulls whichever upcoming episodes have been added to the database too, which is great. But when I switch to the unwatched view, those episodes cause their respective series to be listed as having episodes to watch, even if they've not been aired yet! While I understand that, strictly, it's correct, it does make using the Unwatched view to see what new episodes have arrived difficult. So, should unwatched but unwatchable episodes show up in the Unwatched view at all?

Well, I left this for a while to see if anyone else had an opinion. It seems they don't, but I'll still ask if you could either put in the change you mention above, or add another view that basically filters for unwatched shows that are available on your HD. At the moment, the Unwatched view is pretty useless for me and while the Latest view goes some way to making things easier, I have some series where I'm quite a long way behind and they're no longer "latest"...

I don't have this problem, as I don't pull all series information, but I would like to vote against hiding upcoming episodes. Sometimes I get an episode before the official air date and don't want it to be hidden. I do however agree that episodes you don't have should not show up in the unwatched view.

That's true - just using the airdate is pretty arbitrary, relies on the information provided by the tvdb.com database to be accurate and is also not particularly internationally friendly.

Obviously, I have no idea what I'm talking about here, but it would appear that the code is in the plugin already to change the text colour of episodes you've not got available, so giving the option to hide those episodes in the Unwatched view should be a piece of cake, no?

This now appears to be working as (I think) it should! I didn't notice anything in the changelog, but now, shows with all available episodes watched, even if there is information about future episodes, doesn't appear in the Unwatched view.

False hope, sadly... When I restarted MediaPortal, things went back to normal. I had, earlier, fiddled with the "show offline episodes" setting in the MediaPortal Configuration package, and while I had returned the setting to normal, something had got confused.

So, sadly, My TVSeries still gets me all excited about new episodes for seasons which haven't yet been aired.
