[Update 11.08.10] 0002773: allow playback of videos inside MyPictures (1 Viewer)

While this was long time not touched and my old version (myPicturesExtended) was build on a very old codebase, i decided to do a complete rewrite of the video functionality.
Attached is a new WindowsPlugins.dll and a new Configuration.exe

You have to enable this feature first in setup (see screenshot).

Everything should now be working.
The first start of playback for a video file after startup of MP might take some seconds, so be patient.
Everything else now (including thumbnails) should now works as expected.

You don't need to add the video extensions to the picture extensions list.
They are added automatically.

Please post your feedback, so it can be submitted once svn trunk access is possible again.

This patch is based of MP1.1 final

UPDATE 11.08.2010

Uploaded new binaries with the following changes:

- There is now a new config switch in Configuration where you can decide wether to play videos in slideshows or not
- Pin protection doesn't kick in anymore after playing a video
- Committed the code but left the mantis open

Just tested it (remotely) and it works great for me... i can see the video and assume that the audio is working just fine... the thumbnails show up great too... this is a great addition to the pictures plugin. Thanks!

Hi gemx,

Great addition to the My Pictures part of MP and it works really well... However... If I try and run a slideshow while playing music I get nothing but a blue bar at the top of the screen. I'm using b3wide skin and it was working ok before the change and works OK without music. Also noticed that the videos will play in a slideshow. Could this be optional via the configuration? Thanks for your work on this... I'd be happy to live with the problem if this will be a pain to fix, it makes "My Pictures" much better.

I have "half" tried your update...

I am using the windowsplugin.dll file... this seems to work good (also get the long delay on first launch of a specific video type)

Thumbnails don't work (for either AVI or MOVSD files)

But I can't use your updated config file, as I'm running a newer SVN release of MePo, and your config tool is for MePo final (it whinges about different versions).

Great work gemx!

Spotted one small issue.
When you are inside an PIN protected folder, then after the playback of the video ends/or you manually stop it -> MP asks for the PIN again.

Could be caused by GoShe's "speedup" changes. There were simmilar sideeffects in MyVideos which he had to fix. But I am not sure if that is really causing it.

And in that case your feedback does not help because the binaries were build against 1.1.0 final
